Opening a Document

This software is very simple to use. To open a product page, just double-click the product name in this list (shown above). The product page is immediately opened in the right section of the screen ready for reading, research, and printing.

Printing a Document

Once a page is open, just click the convenient printer icon in the toolbar to print it. Select the printer you want to print to (if you have multiple printers) and the page immediately begins printing... in full color (if you have a color printer).

Printing Multiple Documents

Using the main products list (shown above), you can print multiple documents with ease. Just click the square box next to each product you wish to print. A check mark appears in the box when clicked. Now click the printer icon, select a printer, and all the pages you just selected begin printing immediately.

Conducting a Word Search

You can search through all the documents quickly and easily using a simple word search. Just type the word (or list of words) you want to find in the yellow text box, select the type of search you want to conduct, and click "Display Filter Results". Within seconds, all the documents that match your search have check-marks placed next to them in the main products list. Now, you can:

• print them all in one click,
• search through them and print selected ones, or
• research them one-by-one.

In the Word Filter pictured above, you see a list of search type: "Any Words", "All Words", and "Exact Phrase". Here's how it works:

• If you select "Any Words", then any document containing any of the words you entered in the yellow box becomes checked;
• If you select "All Words", then only the documents that contain all the words you type in the yellow box become checked;
• If you select "Exact Phrase", then only the documents that contain the exact phrase will become checked;
• If you click the "Caps Sensitive" button, then all your searches are case sensitive.

This simple, intuitive system of searching allows you to learn to use the program with virtually no help.

Finding Products Related to Ailments

Just like the word filter (shown above), finding products associated with an ailment (or any number of ailments) is very simple.

• Just place a check mark next to the ailment name and
• click "Display Filter Results".

Within seconds, all products which are related to any of the selected ailments becomes checked in the main product list. Now, you can print them all in one click, search through them and print selected ones, or research them one-by-one.

Finding Products Containing Specified Ingredients

The Ingredient Filter (shown above) works exactly like the word filter and the Ailment Filter. Finding products containing a particular—or any number of—ingredients is very simple.

• Just place a check mark next to any number of ingredients and
• click "Display Filter Results".

Within seconds, all products containing any of the selected ingredients becomes checked in the main product list. Now, you can print them all in one click, search through them and print selected ones, or research them one-by-one.

Combining Filters - A Powerful Combination

The filter system allows you to narrow down a search and find exactly what you're looking for quickly.

For example, if you want to find all products that are associated with "colds" or "flu" or "fever", and that contain Echinacia, you can literally find them all in seconds.

As another example, you can easily find all products that are associated with cancer and contain either Slippery Elm, Chickweed, or Vitamin C.

This combination of power and simplicity is why we receive comments like, "Congratulations on making a program that is truly easy to use!"

Ailment/Ingredient List for Each Product

With a single click, you can display a list of all ailments and ingredients associated with the currently displayed product.

When you have a document open, just click the "Show Ailment/Ingredient List" button on the toolbar. The window above will instantly appear.

E-Mailing Documents to Customers

HART on CD includes a powerful "Export As E-Mail" function that allows you to save any document in a format that can be e-mailed via the Internet. Using our free document viewer (downloadable from this website), your customer can view and print the document you e-mail, in full color.

You can even use the "Export As E-Mail" function to save a product page to diskette and give it to customers so they can view and print it at home with the Herbal Bookstore document viewer.

Version 1.40 of the program makes it easier than ever to e-mail documents directly from the program. Your customers just click a link in your e-mail and they're instantly viewing the product information you want them to see.

Creating Your Own Documents

Not only does the HART on CD program give you the entire HART book in a powerful and easy-to-use format, it also provides you with all the tools you need to create your own library of documents.

All documents in your personal library are completely word-searchable using the same powerful word-search system used by the HART product pages.

Armed with this great tool, you can, over time, import all those documents that you keep in that filing cabinet into the HART program and print them on demand, in full color. Because the program makes it so easy to locate and print documents, you are more likely to distribute information to customers that may have otherwise been too time consuming to retrieve from the filing cabinet, copy, hand to your customer, then refile it.

The built-in document creation system has the following features that you would expect from any professional desktop publishing program.

HART Update Subscription Program

When you subscribe to the HART On CD update subscription program, you will receive updates to your HART on CD NSP product pages each quarter (every 3 months). The new product pages contain the newest NSP products and expanded research on existing products. The Ailment list is also updated at least one time per year.

Updates will be distributed on CD or over the Internet, whichever you prefer.

The cost is only $35 per year.

NOTE: About Windows 95 A and 98 (not Second Edition) - Although the HART on CD program will run on Windows 95 A (not "B") and Windows 98 (the first edition), we do not offer technical support for these operating systems because of the numerous issues with them. If you have Windows 95 A or Windows 98 (first edition), we highly recommend upgrading your computer to a more stable and reliable operating system such as Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Be sure to check with your computer vendor to make sure it is compatible before upgrading your operating system.

How do I tell if I have Windows 98 ("first edition") or Windows 98 Second Edition?
Open the control panel and open the "System" icon. If you have Windows 98 Second Edition, the words "Second Edition" will appear on this window. If these words do not appear, you do not have Windows 98 first edition.
